The Friends of the Portage Senior Center is a non-profit tax-exempt organization founded in 1992. Its purpose is to support the Portage Zhang Senior Center financially by encouraging sponsorships, grants, gifts, and bequests and by stimulating public interest in the PZSC and its services and programs.
The Friends seek to ensure both operating and endowment funding for the Portage Zhang Senior Center. Funding for the operation of the Center comes from the city of Portage (approximately 20 percent), membership dues and activity fees (approximately 65 percent) and grants and donations from generous individuals like you (15 percent). The Kalamazoo Community Foundation holds and invests donors’ endowment funds committed to the long-term needs of the Portage Zhang Senior Center.
