Dear Friend,
Spring is a season of renewal, growth, and fresh possibilities—a perfect time to reflect on the impact we can make together. At the Friends of the Portage Zhang Senior Center, we are grateful for the generosity that allows us to support the Portage Zhang Senior Center (PZSC) and the thousands of older adults who walk through its doors each year.
With over 4,300 active members and more than 96,000 visits annually, the PZSC is a thriving hub of connection, learning, and well-being. Each day, an average of 256 seniors come together to share laughter, engage in fitness and recreation, access vital services, and build friendships that brighten their lives.
As we embrace the energy of spring, we invite you to help sustain this vital resource. While about 30% of the Center’s operating costs are covered by public funding, the remaining support must come from private donations and fundraising efforts. The Friends of the Portage Zhang Senior Center play a crucial role in ensuring that essential programs—such as Veterans services, travel opportunities, fitness classes, and more—remain accessible and affordable for all seniors.
Last year, thanks to generous donors like you, we also provided scholarships to over 50 individuals, ensuring that financial barriers never prevent seniors from participating in PZSC programs. With our Spring Campaign, we aim to raise $15,000 to continue making a difference—and we need your help.
Would you consider making a gift right now? A tax-deductible donation of $25, $50, $100, or any amount meaningful to you will directly support older adults in our community. Your support fosters joy, connection, and lifelong well-being. Contributions can be made using the enclosed envelope or securely online at www.friendspsc.org.
Your generosity keeps the PZSC a warm and welcoming space where seniors can bloom. Thank you for being a part of this wonderful community and for helping us make every season brighter for our older adults.
Warm gratitude,
Steve Rodia
